An Article on filming Bald Eagles in Alaska
An article on filming Bald Eagles in Alaska was recently published in the winter issue of Birds Illustrated. The Chilkat Valley in South East Alaska is a winter gathering place for up to 3500 eagles. I spent 10 very cold, but sunny days, in this magical place filming the Eagles for a BBC TV programe. This is the last big Salmon run in North America and the spawned out carcases provide food for the hungry eagles well into Febuary. The eagles are quite used to photographers and it has to be one of the best places in North America to get close to these magnificent birds.
